We typically invest in Seed and Series B investment rounds, with significant follow-on investment reserved for successful portfolio companies. Drawing on LifeArc’s core strengths, we offer our portfolio companies venture funding, scientific support through our scientists and labs in Stevenage, and help with progressing their translational science.

We take an active role in our investments. We’re always looking for inspirational, science-led companies and exceptional teams that can benefit from our translational advice, scientific know how and funding. We can invest widely across therapeutic areas and modalities.

Through our network of industry contacts, we can help to build boards, lead or co-invest in investor syndicates and in our state-of-the-art facilities, we can offer laboratory support in some areas of science to get you started.

The LifeArc framework

LifeArc Ventures is part of LifeArc’s long term financial sustainability strategy. LifeArc is a self-funded medical research organisation turning promising science into patient impact, with a focus on rare diseases and drug-resistant infections. We lead, fund, partner and convene, bringing our expertise and resources to advance innovation where progress might otherwise stall, ultimately helping new medical breakthroughs reach patients faster.

LifeArc invests in innovative translational scientific research, specifically:

  • seed to Series B rounds, where we can add value scientifically, operationally and financially, and then can follow on in later rounds
  • novel assets and technologies, where if successfully developed, could have a material impact on patients
  • protectable IP and assets
  • outstanding scientific founders

LifeArc is focused on funding the exceptional UK science base but is able to invest globally.
