Congratulations to our portfolio company RQ Biotechnology Ltd which has announced the completion of an oversubscribed $115 million (£85.5 million) Series A financing.

LifeArc Ventures founded RQ Bio in 2021 together with its four UK-based founder scientists, all global leaders in antibodies and infectious disease. Drawing on our core strengths, LifeArc invested in RQ and contributed investment and strategic support from the Ventures team led by Clare Terlouw and Chris Baker, provided initial office facilities, and provided drug discovery expertise in key areas like CMC-de-risking and antibody engineering.

Clare Terlouw, Managing Partner at LifeArc Ventures, said: “It’s been a privilege to work closely with RQ Bio and its exceptional founders and management. The oversubscribed Series A is testament to the scientific excellence and focused drive of the RQ team and a great example of first-class British science being backed for success on the global stage. RQ Bio has worked rapidly to progress their research in influenza prevention, and with the funding announced today will be able to progress their lead programme into clinical development next year.”
